Sokratis Iliopoulos is Expert NDT (specialization NDT on Concrete) at the Business Line Nuclear of ENGIE Laborelec. Within the ACES project, he is execution responsible and contributor to Task 2.3 (corrosion monitoring) and project manager of all tasks associated to ENGIE Laborelec (mainly Tasks 2.3 and 2.5 – ageing management of Nuclear Power Plants). Sokratis holds a bachelor and master degree in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and a PhD in NDT of Concrete from the Free University of Brussels. Professionally, he is involved in the assessment and monitoring of concrete structures using elastic wave techniques (Ultrasonic Tomography, Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity, Acoustic Emission) and electromagnetic techniques (Ground Penetrating Radar, Pulsed Eddy Current, etc.). The fields of application involve Nuclear Power Plants, Nuclear Authorities, Coal and Gas fired Power Plants, as well as renewables and grid owners/operators.
