As part of the ACES project, we work with irradiated rock samples, which are further examined in Hot Cells laboratories. The preparation of samples is very time and financially demanding. The cylindrical samples are only about 1 x 1 cm and 1 x 2 cm, and therefore the operator of the Hot Cells needs to train to avoid mistakes when handling with such small samples.
Students from the Secondary School of Civil Engineering, in cooperation with the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague and the Research Centre Řež made little concrete cylinders with different defects so that the workers of the hot cells can train all possible situations.
